QFaC

THANK YOU!

The Quilt For a Cause Board thanks our sponsors, donors, buyers, guests and volunteers for making “Quilts in the Garden” a delightful and successful event!

In the garden with quilts!

Cate Johnson and David Schmidtz opened their lovely home and garden on Saturday, September 16th and over 100 people gathered to enjoy gourmet appetizers, Prosecco, Bellinis and handmade quilts displayed artistically throughout the garden and home.

QFaC VP Colleen Babcock presents “Embers of Hope” to raffle winner, Joan Gilbert.

Nineteen quilts sold and the lovely “Embers of Hope” raffle quilt was won by Joan Gilbert.  The money raised is donated to agencies in southern Arizona that offer services consistent with the QFaC mission of using the art and business of quiltmaking to raise funds to pursue medical advances against breast and gynecologic cancers including research, education of medical professionals and detection and treatment for women.

Quilt For a Cause, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is proud to have raised over $860,000 since its first auction in 2003.  This is truly a community project.  First and foremost, we could not raise funds without the generous donation of quilts by Arizona quilters, both residents and winter visitors from all over America and Canada.  We have lots of events planned for the rest of 2017 and expect a busy 2018.  Thank you and keep those quilts coming.  You are donating to a cause, both beneficial and very much needed!

Additionally, thank you to the many businesses and individuals who donated materials and services to help make “Quilts in the Garden” such a successful event. We urge our readers and supporters to use these businesses whenever possible, knowing that they contribute generously to our community. They are: Cheesecake Factory, Mayfield Florist, Nothing Bundt Cakes, The Quilter’s Market, Total Wines and More and Debi Rix who made the wonderful table toppers.

Lastly, but certainly not least, thank you to the many volunteers who helped with set-up, serving and take-down.  We appreciate you!

Enjoyable company!
