Sweet & Savory Surprise  After Party!

Ever wonder what happens to all the donated quilts? Almost all of our quilts are sold by the end of our Auctions however a few are unclaimed or ‘orphaned.’ The highest bidder never picks up their quilt, or their contact information is incorrect….whatever the reason, we occasionally end our Auction season with ‘leftovers!’

Never wanting to let leftovers go to waste we are having a ‘Sweet & Savory Surprise After Party’ on November 5th. At this party we will celebrate the success of Quilt for a Cause as well as distribute any orphaned quilts. To attend look for the sign up sheet at this year’s Live Auction….space will be limited!

Hanging Day!

Saturday, September 10 was “Hanging Day” at TMC!   Quilt For a Cause Board members, their families and friends, and many wonderful volunteers from Tucson Quilters Guild arrived early in the day, with their step ladders and supplies, to tackle the huge job!  By early afternoon, 355 beautiful quilts were hanging in Shelly, Ramsay, Taylor, Hall of Giving, Krause, Erickson, Booth, Mason, Ferguson, Marshall and Shropshire Halls. Posters and  bid sheets were then placed near the quilts, and we had barely finished getting all the quilts up when visitors started bidding on them!

TMC is now literally blanketed in glorious color!  Many, many thanks to all the generous quilters who donated the quilts and to everyone who helped hang them.  You are making a difference in the fight against women’s cancers.

Bidding continues for the next 4 weeks, until October 15, but don’t wait until the last day –the quilts are also available for purchase any time at the buy it now price— in fact, a dozen or so have already been sold to eager buyers!  There are so many choices, everything from table toppers and wall hangings, crib and throw sizes, up to queen and king size quilts.  Come and bid, you can do your gift shopping and help support a good cause at the same time –all the money goes to help fight breast and gynecologic cancers at Tucson Medical Center and St. Elizabeth’s Health Center.
