Class of 2008, Arizona Quilters Hall of Fame recipient Evelyn George is a quilt designer and author who enjoys sharing her ideas with other quiltmakers by simplifying classic blocks as well as designing original ones.
In her latest quilt pattern “Falling Stars”, she used quick-piecing techniques to streamline star blocks into a colorful quilt. The blocks were then set in vertical rows, with the stars tipping playfully in opposite directions, to create a gentle, drifting effect.
This pattern includes 3 quilt sizes and 3 options for star colors. You can make stars of 8 different colors using fat 8ths or fat quarters, make all the stars the same color, or make a very scrappy version using a different fabric for each of the 32 stars! This is a fun quilt that’s quick to make for yourself, or as a delightful gift for anyone on your list!
All proceeds for the pattern go to Quilt for a Cause, Inc, a 501c nonprofit organization which uses the art and business of quilting to pursue advances in breast and/or gynecological cancers by raising funds for research, by continuing the education of medical professionals, and by supporting clinical organizations that raise awareness, offer detection and provide treatment to all women.
