Homage to Mucha 13-278

Image from The Art Nouveau Style Book of Alphonse Mucha. Images first published in Documents Decoratifs, 1901. The Art Quilt Bee of Tucson, Arizona is proud to support health care and cancer research for all the women in our community. This image was interpreted by the Art Quilt Bee by 17 artists who created the image out of a variety of fabrics, including cotton, silk, sateen, and tulle. The piece was then quilted by Quilt Artists Barbara Angerhoefer and Lois Podolny. From Start to finish this piece took about 18 months to complete. Applique and Piecing Artists: Allison Banks, Valerie Bockman, Judy Edison, Karen Fisher, Genevieve Guadalupe, Sheryl L. Women of the World 13-272

I have lived in this community and worked at TMC for many years. I have been proud that TMC has participated in this event, which benefits the women who are in need of healthcare services. This is the first time I have been able to participate in this worthy event. I thought that a quilt representing women of many diverse backgrounds, wearing the many different colors that represent their origins would be perfect for the cause! Size: 44"x52".
