Art Quilts – An art quilt is an original exploration of a concept or idea rather than the handing down of a “pattern”. It experiments with textile manipulation, color, texture and/or a diversity of mixed media. An Art Quilt often pushes quilt world boundaries. Quilt art generally has more in common with the fine arts than it does with traditional quilting.
The pattern for this quilt is an original creation by Karen Fisher of Tucson and is pictured in her book, "Easy Grid Quilts". Beautifully quilted by Mary Vaneecke of Tucson, the quilt earned ribbons in two Arizona quilt shows, and was shown at Quilt Expo n Madison Wi. Size 49 x 49 inches.
The altered "Perfect Form" pattern by Laura Heine was a great way to encourage all women who have faced, will face, or are facing breast cancer. Our thoughts are with each of them and we hope this quilt will bring someone much joy. Size 24 x 32 inches.
A wonderful art piece enhanced with beautiful bead work and detailed quilting. Size 17 x 35 inches.
