Jeannie Coleman

Our friend and Quilt For a Cause, Inc. co-founder, Jeannie Dank Coleman passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017.  Jeannie was a talented quilter and a breast cancer survivor who had the vision to use her skills and experiences to help other women fighting gynecologic cancers and anyone fighting breast cancer.  She challenged and inspired others to join her.  Over the years, thousands of quilters have responded by creating and donating beautiful quilts.  The sale and auction of these quilts, along with generous community and private support has made an impact on the Tucson community.

In its 15-year history, QFaC has raised and donated over $850,000 to fight breast and gynecologic cancers in Tucson, and Jeannie’s dream is still going strong and growing.   QFaC funds assist women’s cancer programs at Tucson Medical Center, St. Elizabeth’s Health Center, and other Tucson non-profit agencies serving those with breast and gynecologic cancer.

Kelly Coleman shares here wonderful tribute to Jeannie The Jeannie I Knew.

Jeannie will be remembered always by all who have been inspired by her, worked with her and enjoyed knowing this beautiful, kind, humble and classy lady.  We were privileged to call her “Friend.”  As Quilt For a Cause continues to expand its outreach, others may not know Jeannie, but they will know and benefit from fine work she began.

In memory of Jeannie, her family requests that memorial gifts be directed to Quilt For A Cause, Inc., the 501 (c)(3) non-profit foundation originated and co-founded by her in 2003.

Contributions may be made in Jeannie’s memory to:
