Happy Birds display at the Tucson Quilt Fiesta in February

Happy Birds is the newest Quilt For a Cause pattern and it is a big hit! We just ordered our second printing of the pattern in time to present at the Arizona Quilters Guild Spring meeting on April 13th in Payson.

QFAC introduced Happy Birds at the Tucson Quilt Fiesta Show in February.  Not only did we sell 58 copies of Happy Birds but also sold 8 quilts.  Many thanks to the generous members of the Tucson Quilt Guild Show committee for the excellent booth space and the fantastic access to two aisles for hanging our quilts.  The quilts flew off the walls.

The Happy Birds then flew to Green Valley for the Splendor in the Desert quilt show on March 16th and 17th.  Many went to new homes with the happy guests at the quilt show.  Thanks to the Valley Quilters Guild for the great location for our table, we were able to talk with the guests as they moved between the vendor areas and the quilt show.  We are so grateful to the Arizona guilds and their members who are so supportive of Quilt For a Cause.

Crystal Blue Persuasion (CBP) is our brand-new opportunity quilt, it is 105 x 105 inches BIG and is just beautiful. The quilt was rescued at The Quilter’s Market and finished by QFAC director Ann Adams and QFAC Ambassador Suzanne Irving.  Suzanne also did the wonderful quilting on this beauty. Tickets went on sale at the Splendor in the Desert Quilt Show and then at the Arizona Quilters Guild Quilt show in Mesa, both shows in March.  Great thanks to both the Valley Quilters Guild and the Arizona Quilters Guild for providing space for our organization.  The support of our Arizona quilters and the many quilting guilds is the reason QFAC is successful in providing funds to groups that support our mission. CBP received an Honorable Mention ribbon in the Large two-person primarily pieced category.

Tickets for this quilt are available online for $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00

The last big news for this month is that Quilt for a Cause will open a second exhibit at the Tucson Botanical Gardens on May 5, 2019, and run through September 29th, this exhibit will be shown in the Education Building, Friends House and the Garden’s wonderful Gift Shop.  Although limited in space we will have lots of quilts available for sale and look forward to seeing you all there.  The opening reception will be Friday May 10 from 5 to 7 pm.  Here’s a look at some of the quilts available for sale at the Gardens and on our website.
