Quilt For A Cause Making a Difference

Quilt For A Cause, Inc. vendor booth, TQG sh.
Quilts: l, Southwest; r, Lazuli Constellation.

January found Quilt For A Cause, Inc. sponsoring a fundraising and fun trip to Road to California’s 20th show.  February featured Tucson Quilters Guild’s 40th show, a Ruby Jubilee and Quilt For A Cause was there.  The show was magnificent and two new QFaC patterns were introduced.

“Fun with Log Cabins” designed by Ann Adams offers a classic Southwest design and a Heart design honoring the Ruby Jubilee.  Souhwest was featured at the Quilt For A Cause booth in the vendor area while Heart was displayed in the Ruby Jubilee show.

“Constellation Stars” also features two designs.  QFaC Director Evelyn George and frequent pattern designer developed Ruby Constellation.  The pattern sample, made by the Piecepatchers, a quilt bee associated with the Tucson Quilters Guild, and quilted by QFaC Director Suzanne Irving, was entered into the show.  The QFaC Board and Piecepatchers were delighted as Ruby Constellation received a first place award in its category, a special award for exemplary quilting and the special Viewers’ Choice for best for red and white quilt in this special Ruby Jubilee.  The second design in this pattern, Lazuli Constellation, designed by Piecepatcher Joanna Strohn, was also featured at the Quilt For A Cause vendor booth.

Sales of these new patterns were strong during the show raising more funds for QFaC to strive toward our mission of sewing a cure for cancer.

Tucson Quilters Guild 40th Show, Ruby Jubilee, February 16 – 18, 2018

Congratulations to the Tucson Quilters Guild for presenting a wonderful show. The QFaC Board of Directors thanks the Guild for the support they offer QFaC at the show and throughout each year.

During March, QFaC will be at the Hummingbird Stitchers show in Sierra Vista, the SaddleBrooke show, the Valley Quilters Retreat held in Tucson and the Arizona Quilters Guild show in Phoenix.  If you are in the area, stop by and say hello, buy a pattern or a raffle ticket.

April brings QFaC to an exhibition at the Tucson Botanical Gardens.  Quilts will be available for sale.  We hope you will join us during this four-month event.  Watch this website for details.
