Successful Exhibition at Tucson Botanical Gardens Closes
Quilt For A Cause’s Quilts in the Garden exhibition closed at the end of July. What an exciting four months this has been for everyone! Quilts and boutique items were donated by friends of Quilt For A Cause (QFaC). Visitors to the Botanical Gardens purchased quilts, big and small, patterns and boutique souvenirs almost daily. We extend an extremely grateful thank you to both donors and purchasers. Over 160 quilts sold! Our beautiful Tucson is an attractive visitors’ Mecca in the American Southwest. The quilts and totes and ornaments evoke lovely memories for purchasers, local, national and international. And the sales begin filling the QFaC coffers for our next round of donations to help in the fight against breast and gynecologic cancers. Thank you, thank you! Recently, we were privileged to be able to disburse $55,000 to agencies serving southern Arizona.
Tickets for Delft Duet, the exhibition opportunity quilt, were available throughout the four months. The quilt was pieced by QFaC Director Carol Carpenter and quilted by Director Suzanne Irving. On July 28th, Carol and Suzanne drew the ticket of the lucky winner, Mary Vangen of Sarasota, Florida. She bought her ticket while enjoying the Gardens during her visit to Tucson. Congratulations, Mary! Enjoy your beautiful new quilt!
Our new raffle quilt is “Christmas Star.” Tickets are available on this site. Click on Raffle Quilt! in the ribbon at the top of this page. The quilt was pieced by Ann Adams and quilted by Nubin Jensen. Tickets are $2 each or 3/$5. The winning ticket will be drawn on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Tucson Quilt, Craft and Sewing Festival.
The next Quilt For A Cause auction will be in Autumn, 2019. In the meantime, we continue to collect quilts and sell them at various events in southern Arizona and through this website. Quilt For A Cause, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to fighting breast and gynecologic cancers through donations to agencies offering services to those experiencing these diseases. Contact any Director to help us in this charitable and necessary work. As always, thank you!
